Motorcycle Panniers: An essential Accessory

By Harry Alan

Panniers are often more over a sometimes necessary accessory; they can be an attribute which will raise the look from the bike so long as they best ones are chosen. The right pannier needs to be an extension box from the bike, not necessarily obtrusive however adequate enough to adjust to everything you require.

For the original Motorcycle of yester year (remember the days of the "Easy Rider"), soft leather saddlebags were the best way to go. Now with present Harley bikes we've a fairly easy variety of saddle bags and panniers to accommodate based on the look and function required and the design of Harley you have- may it be a tourer, sports or classic bike.

Hard bags are better than soft bags if you appreciate the liberty of pulling up and parking or being able to leave your helmet and jacket safely located in the bag soon you return. The soft bag you'll want to carry to you for security plus it probably wouldn't fit all of your gear. Hard bags will also be easily removed and carried as being a suitcase on an overnight stay should you be touring.

Needless to say should the plastic looking pannier is just too distasteful on your purist inside you, nowadays there are numerous attractive fiberglass hard bags with leather-look vinyl covers which will cut the proverbial mustard. They've the main benefit of being extra strong (maintaining their integrity for anybody who is unfortunate enough to become linked to a spill while riding) together with are available in a number of styles.

Whatever style you decide to go with though, keep in mind that if the thing putting you off of the hard bag instead of the soft bag is the price difference- in five years time when you find yourself riding your bike and possess the simplicity a hardcore bag you may not even remember whatever you decide and paid will you're glad took action now.
