Ways to Advertise Your motorbike On the Net

By Jessica Chastain

Do you want to sell your bike? Then how about doing it online? The Internet is the preferred option for many people wanting to buy things and a vehicle is no different. But selling it online to a buyer you don't know anything about can prove to be tricky. Here are a few things that you should keep in mind to make sure that the sale goes through easily and smoothly.

1. Advertise on a good website. You can easily sell your used motorcycle if you choose the right website. Many people prefer to go with large sites like Ebay Motors in the USA, or Autotrader in the UK. Others may look for a local website to sell their used vehicles. So, if you are placed in New Zealand, you may want to go for a country-specific site such as carsforsalenz.co.nz. Anyone looking to buy a new vehicle will probably look for a website that caters specifically to their country and location.

2. You should advertise your bike with the correct details. Don't make false claims. Stating accurate facts is more likely to attract genuine buyers than making false claims. If your bike is in need of repair, come clean. The year, the number plate and your location should also be mentioned in your ad.

3. Many people don't want to buy a brand new motorcycle; they want a good deal when they buy a used motorcycle. Sometimes, these are people who earn extra money by buying used motorcycle, sprucing them up, and then selling them to make a profit.

So, make sure to price it right keeping in mind the age of the motorbike and the mileage. Be prepared for bargaining. These are business-savvy people looking for a good deal on their purchase, so they will haggle on the price.

4. When you sell your motorbike, your documents should be in order. If there is any outstanding finance, clear it before selling, or disclose it to the buyer and reassure them it will be cleared. All the papers should be clear to hand over to the buyer. Keep receipts of any repair work that you have carried out on your motorcycle.

5. Always stick to your lowest possible price and don't go below it - be prepared to walk away. Quoting a higher price will come in handy here. Check the buyer's insurance before allowing him to test drive. Protect yourself from motorcycle theft by never leaving the keys unattended. Take the cash before you let someone else ride off on your motorbike.
