Bike Software Mobile Data Gauge for Harley

By Darnell Austria

Some accessories we install on our motorbikes are pure form with limited purpose. Still, here is a device that allows you to maximize the capabilities of the mobile phone you'd regularly keep in bag as you cruise. The GaugeFace Data gauge will let you to use your own iPhone (3G, 3GS, 4) or iPod touch (3rd and 4th gen) to interface with the motorbike's ECM and display important bike info on the mounted cell phone. A few of the readouts prepared to the biker are the following a speed meter, tachometer, engine temp, gear indicator, turning signal lights, compass, battery voltage, and, my favorite for stoplight to stoplight blasts, a programmable shift light.

The pack contains the correct ECM cable harness adaptor along with a long pigtail, that may be sent to your seat area. A word of caution here: you should not route the wires next to high-voltage motorcycle devices like the ignition coils or spark plug wires to avoid feasible electric disturbance. The GaugeFace tool charges your smartphone even when it is attached and the motor is running. The free iTunes app delivers many theme designs to choose from. One more priceless reward is the capability to access your motorcycle's analysis trouble codes. For the DIY tech, the GaugeFace can be an priceless instrument in accurately diagnosing problems and repairing your bike.

I oftentimes tried a popular mount, which secures on to the handlebar with U-bolts and has 2 pivot joints so I could adjust the viewing position when needed. The holder secures my iPhone 4 tightly.

Before we part ways, I would just like to advise you how important life is. Having a bike happens to be an ultimate obligation. Therefore any time you setup a Harley, be sure to install top quality parts and components like Z Bars, grips, wires and cables, wheels, and a lot more. This ensures your safety so have a happy ride!
