There are several items of clothing as well as accessories that you will be needing if ever you buy a motorcycle.

Why you should wear a crash helmet In most countries in the world, it is in fact illegal to ride a motorcycle without a helmet and this is by far the most important accessory. Leaving the rider fully exposed in an accident are motorcycles and if there was a road accident, then a crash helmet could mean the difference between life and death. Skimping on the cost of a good helmet is definitely not a smart move.

Why you should wear gloves Any exposed skin can get extremely cold on a motorbike even during warmer climates and with gloves, your hands can be kept warm. Gloves also provide better grip on the handlebars and they also help protect the hands from scrapes and damage in the case of an accident.

Wearing boots A good pair of riding boots will help protect the rider's feet from damage, but also up the cool factor. When you buy boots, make sure that they provide adequate protection and don't just buy them because they are fashionable. Leather is popular, but some synthetic materials are more weatherproof.

What clothes should you wear? Leather has long been a popular choice for motorcycle riders as it offers protection from scrapes and warmth while riding. Introduced by recent technology are synthetic materials that are more breathable and safer for the rider and are also weatherproof. They often have additional elbow padding and extra support across the lower back to provide protection in case of accidents. Reflective material is what some jackets have in order to improve the visibility of the motorcycle rider at night. Still very popular are leather jackets and pants but you should still look for proper equipment that is designed for fashion as well as safety.

Facts about rainwear It may not look good but when you do get caught in the rain on your motorbike, then you will appreciate having a rain suit or a separate jacket and pants. There are lighter colors that will improve your visibility in rainy conditions and these are what you need to look for.

Designed to protect the rider while looking good is today's motorcycle gear and take note that sacrificing one or the other is not necessary. You can get cool gear that will keep you safe. There are many other accessories - handlebar tassels and so forth that serve no purpose other than to look good should only be considered if your budget can stretch that far. Safety should be your first priority when you are buying gear.
