If You Want A Sports Utility Vehicle Consider A New 2012 Porsche Cayenne

By Zach Cummings

If there ever was a vehicle that was hard to label, it would be the 2012 Porsche Cayenne. Could it be a luxurious SUV, a hard-core off-roader, or a straightforward car-based crossover? Because it is a Porsche, it is safe to assume that you will get luxury and sportiness in a quality vehicle. Although you can most likely get more cargo room in other SUVs, for those who want a Porsche they really care.

The Cayenne is an all-wheel drive SUV that has exciting performance and outstanding handling with a selection of engine options to choose from. It comes with various trims and engines and it also seats five comfortably. If you were to get the base model Cayenne, you will have automatic wipers, power lift-gate, eight-way power front seats, automatic headlights, 18-inch wheels and so much more. The base-model 2012 Porsche Cayenne comes with a 3.6 liter V6 engine and additionally includes a six-speed manual transmission. The Cayenne has the capacity to conserve fuel using an automatic stop/start feature and you can buy the SUV with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Cayenne V6 should go from 0 to 60 in 7.1 seconds in manual transmission and 7.4 seconds in automatic. The automatic will get about 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway while the manual is about 1 mpg less for both. If you want something a little more powerful, then you can consider the Cayenne S. A 2012 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid offers better fuel economy of 20/24/21 and it features a 3.0-liter V6 with a 34W electric motor and an eight speed automatic transmission. The Cayenne Turbo is even more potent, and has a worse fuel economy, but belongs to the fastest SUVs sold. The Cayenne includes a host of security features like driver knee airbags, front-side airbags, traction control and anti-lock brakes.

The 2012 Porsche Cayenne is among one of just one or two SUVs which make available a manual transmission, but it isn't any quicker than any other 300-hp SUVs. The steering and controlling has been receiving a lot of endorsements from car experts. The additional boost that you get is produced by the thrust that goes to the rear wheels in this all-wheel drive system. The elective active suspension will allow you to undertake light off-roading or drive long distances. If you want the intensive muscle power of a V8 engine, you can't go wrong with the Cayenne S. However, the Cayenne S Hybrid just isn't as enjoyable since the regenerative brakes and electric power steering feels odd for a powerful car. It is still a Porsche, and it combines the fuel economy with functionality quite nicely.

The 2012 Porsche Cayenne is really a mid-size SUV that is very comfortable to drive. It seriously isn't low-cost no matter which grade you might choose to buy. You may keep the cost down somewhat by choosing the standard model, but higher powered engines are going to cost you more. They actually have a hybrid, if that is what you would like in an SUV.
